This also means you can use the HomePod to play music from streaming services other than Apple Music (Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora, YouTube, and so on). To get.

The HomePod is loud too, with Siri asking if you definitely want to do that when you ask the speaker to play at full volume. And if there are any sound effects on a track, be it water splashing.

During the WWDC 2019, Apple breaks the news that Siri will be able to play radio stations on iOS 13. This is good news for those that own a homepod who want to stream a local radio station. So right now, you can be able to play Radio on your homepod without an Apple Music subscription.

Other unique HomePod features include allowing podfasters to play podcasts at 1.5 times or double the normal speed (Alexa can’t). You can use your voice to send iMessages, SMS texts, and even third-party WhatsApp messages (which, BTW, is one of my favorite features), as long as the connected iPhone is on the same network. Siri on HomePod can also set reminders using the iPhone’s Reminders.

The HomePod does not natively support Spotify. You can’t use your voice to control playback like Apple Music. However, Spotify subscribers can fret not, as there is a simple way to stream your favorite music. See how for yourself how to play music from Spotify on HomePod in our hands-on video and tutorial.
